"It embraces its roguish, indulgent side, a delicious wine ready to drink with its bright, round fruit. ~ La RVF"

"Fruity and intense, the bouquet of Connétable Talbot displays depth and precision. The latter is also evident on the palate and acts as a common thread. The creamy, velvety tannins provide excellent structure and ensure length and freshness. A sapid wine that can already be enjoyed young." (Yves Beck 2024)

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2022 guide) 4 stars (Producers of very high quality, the pride of French vineyards)

About the estate:

This estate, one of the most popular in the Médoc, still belongs to the Cordier family. It produces an abundant harvest, which has gained in strength and definition since 2014. For many, Talbot embodies the ideal of Saint-Julien, with its generous bouquet, great stability, and reliable aging potential. A lovely dry white wine, aromatic and lively, continues to be produced under the Caillou-Blanc label. The intelligent work carried out with the help of Stéphane Derenoncourt in a cleverly modernized vat room and cellar is bearing fruit.

About wine:

Bright strawberries and fresh cherries: this wine explodes on the palate with aromas of freshly picked summer berries and high, almost citrusy acidity, giving it its vibrant character. Energy and liveliness are the order of the day, rather than power and strength. A truly enjoyable and easy-to-drink wine, with well-integrated tannins and beautiful salty notes in the background. I also appreciate its notes of fresh mint. 2026-2040

About the estate:

This powerful brand, rightly appreciated by wine lovers, has made a strong comeback, now producing the wines we have come to expect from it. Equipped with high-performance, modern facilities and skillfully managed, the vast Nancy Bignon-Cordier estate, led by Jean-Michel Laporte, is reviving the glory of its past, producing wines that are more subtle and refined than ever. Wine Green

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2025 guide) 92/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About wine:

The nose is racy, mineral, and juicy. It reveals notes of fresh/bright cherry, pulpy purple plum, and, more discreetly, cherry blossom, combined with hints of pepper, rose, and subtle touches of fresh blond tobacco and star anise. The palate is fruity, juicy, and smooth, with a mineral and tangy structure, pulpiness, brightness, deliciousness, and a lovely silkiness and purity of fruit. It expresses notes of bright cherry, pulpy/bright blackcurrant and, more subtly, vibrant raspberry, combined with hints of star anise, cherry blossom, and touches of licorice root and chocolate. Good length, with a hint of chocolate. The tannins are fresh and flavorful.
