"One of the stars of the vintage!
"The Chevaliers de Védrines, who owned this property for centuries (until 1840), would be proud of the work the Castéja family has done here. Doisy-Védrines is one of the stars of the 2005 vintage for its sublime elegance, richness and finesse. A formidable nose, fine and perfumed with a lifting touch of botrytis, serves as an impressive entry for a wonderfully pure Sauternes of extraordinary length. The wine is like an impeccably tailored suit on a perfectly formed body. Very reminiscent of their truly exceptional 1989." (18/20 Berry Bros & Rudd - Wine & Spirits)

Rated 17/20 (Reference wine)
4-star rated estates (top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the wine:
Well diversified aromatically, on a classic apricot and yellow fruit base, good acidity, long, fresh, very well made wine, showing more breadth and openness than last year.
About the domain :
This neighboring estate to Doisy-Daëne, run by Olivier Castéja, shares the same type of limestone soil, typical of Haut-Barsac, and produces a classic, well-roasted, generous sweet wine that will please everyone. We appreciate the gain in pure finesse, better protected against oxidation in recent years. Prices are reasonable.

Domaine rated (guide 2021) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
Resulting from the division of Doisy into three estates, this cru bears the name of its former owners (until 1846), the Védrines. It lies close to Climens, Coutet and the other two Doisy estates (Daëne and Dubroca). The château practices low yields, delivering a wine that is among the richest on the nose and the sweetest in Barsac. It takes between five and ten years to blossom, when it achieves the distinction and brilliance of the appellation's stars.
