Château Haut-Bergeron

Château Haut-Bergeron is owned by the Lamothe family, one of the oldest families established in Sauternes. The family’s heritage and expertise have been passed down through five generations. A neighbor of Château Yquem, Château Haut-Bergeron is located in Preignac, with vineyards spanning the communes of Sauternes, Barsac, and Bommes.

Today, the Château Haut-Bergeron vineyard comprises 17 hectares of vines, situated on predominantly clay-gravelly soil with southern exposure. Emphasis is placed on regular and meticulous soil management, including aeration and a sustainable approach to soil amendments, carried out using only organic materials. The winemaking process at Château Haut-Bergeron is traditional and meticulous, with great attention paid to the aging process.

Château Haut-Bergeron wines can be enjoyed young and fruity or allowed to age, and they pair well with a variety of dishes, including foie gras, of course.
