Château Haut-Bergeron

Château Haut-Bergeron is owned by the Lamothe family, one of the oldest families established in Sauternes. The family’s heritage and expertise have been passed down through five generations. A neighbor of Château Yquem, Château Haut-Bergeron is located in Preignac, and its vineyards are spread across the communes of Sauternes, Barsac, and Bommes.

Today, Château Haut-Bergeron’s vineyards cover 17 hectares, situated on predominantly clay-gravel terroir with southern exposure. Emphasis is placed on regular and meticulous soil management, including soil aeration and a sustainable approach to soil amendments, carried out using only organic materials. The winemaking process at Château Haut-Bergeron is traditional and meticulous, with great attention paid to the aging process.

Château Haut-Bergeron wines can be enjoyed young, with bright fruit flavors, or as they mature further; in either case, they pair well with a wide variety of dishes, including foie gras, of course.
