Château Haut-Bergeron
Château Haut-Bergeron is owned by the Lamothe family, one of the oldest families established in Sauternes. The family’s heritage and expertise have been passed down through five generations. A neighbor of Château Yquem, Château Haut-Bergeron is located in Preignac, and its vineyards are spread across the communes of Sauternes, Barsac, and Bommes.

Today, Château Haut-Bergeron’s vineyards span 17 hectares, situated on predominantly clay-gravel soil with south-facing slopes. The focus is on regular and meticulous soil management, including aeration and a sustainable approach to soil amendments, carried out using only organic materials. The winemaking process for Château Haut-Bergeron’s wines is traditional and meticulous, with great attention paid to the aging process.

Château Haut-Bergeron wines can be enjoyed when they are still yellow and fruit-forward or when they have matured further; in the latter case, they pair beautifully with a variety of dishes, including foie gras, of course.
