Château Les Justices

Château Les Justices is owned by a distinguished family from the Sauternes region in Bordeaux. René Médeville is credited with establishing himself as a master winemaker in Sauternes by employing long-term aging techniques that are now the hallmark of Château Les Justices. His son Christian succeeded him in 1959 and further refined the aging technique for the famous older vintages, with the success we all know. He expanded his estates by incorporating Château Respide-Médeville, and soon established himself not only as an eminent viticultural expert but also as a connoisseur of the uniquely distinctive Sauternes wine.

Christian Médeville passionately manages the three estates: Château Les Justices, Château Gilette, and Château Respide-Médeville, and his efforts are bearing fruit. In 2004, his daughter Julie took up the torch alongside her husband, Xavier Gonet, an oenologist from a long-established family of Champagne growers in the Côte des Blancs. The Gonet-Médeville Champagnes were launched in 2000, drawing on a 7.5-hectare vineyard of Premier and Grand Cru vineyards, and they continue the family’s winemaking adventure with passion.
