Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey
A historic 36-hectare vineyard, Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey is located in the heart of the Sauternes region, on the hills above the village of Bommes. Owned by Swiss businessman Silvio Denz, who also owns Château Faugères in Saint-Émilion, Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey produces great classic Sauternes wines from exceptionally rich harvests, now selecting its first wine with great rigor. Now recognized for its consistent quality, and a neighbor of Sigalas-Rabaud, Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey enjoys a fine reputation and is distinguished by the great richness imparted by its terroir. The grapes are, of course, harvested in successive passes; pressing is carried out on old vertical presses, and the wine is aged for thirty months in barrels (grouped by harvest date), a third of which are new oak.
