“A truly great wine that strikes the perfect balance between smoothness, liveliness, and austerity! ~ Yves Beck”
“In a very consistent vintage, this wine has that certain something extra… The sample is deeply fruity, hedonistic, and luscious, with an enticing flavor of roasted peach. Very pure, straightforward, and progressive on the palate despite its overflowing sensuality, it masterfully balances its rich body (171 g/L, though still less than the memorable 2022 and 2023 vintages), returning in the finish to a moving closeness to fresh fruit. " (La RVF 2026)

Nose
The nose is rich and intense, with aromas of wildflower honey, rich floral notes, and quince paste
Palate
The palate is full-bodied and velvety, thanks to a smooth texture. The wine is balanced by a fresh, underlying acidity that lingers nicely. Notes of mirabelle plums dominate, joined by aromas of wildflowers, pastries, and apricot jam. The finish is elegant, refreshed by lovely bitter notes and a hint of pollen on the finish, which adds a touch of indulgence to the whole experience.
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2022 guide): 4* Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)
About the estate:
Silvio Denz has enabled the estate to further refine the quality of its wine and to fulfill its role as an ambassador for the great Sauternes wines with distinction, in a style that, thanks to its terroir, bears a close resemblance to Yquem, combining sumptuous texture with aromatic refinement in its fruitiness. But he has also extended his efforts to benefit the entire appellation by opening a luxury hotel and a top-tier gourmet restaurant dedicated to the glory of Sauternes, generously including all neighboring estates in his promotional efforts.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

Very pure, straightforward, and gradual on the palate despite its overflowing sensuality, it masterfully balances its rich body (171 g/L, though still less than the memorable 2022 and 2023 vintages), returning in the finish to a moving closeness to fresh fruit.
About the estate:
Swiss businessman Silvio Denz (Château Faugères in Saint-Émilion) acquired this venerable estate, which was made famous over many years by its former owner, the Cordier family. This splendid estate produces great classic Sauternes wines from exceptionally rich harvests, now selecting its first wine with even greater rigor. It is at this cost that the estate achieves consistent quality, which perpetuates its reputation. The grapes are, of course, harvested in successive passes; pressing is carried out on old vertical presses, and the wine is aged for thirty months in barrels (by lot corresponding to harvest dates), a third of which are new oak. Lafaurie-Peyraguey stands out for its great richness, a result of its terroir, in contrast to the finesse of its closest neighbor, Sigalas-Rabaud.
