"A rare and precious bottle!"
“Intense golden yellow. An intense bouquet, marked by freshness but also by ripe notes. Exotic fruits, saffron, currants, and quince. On the palate, the wine is creamy, delicate, fruity, yet also refined. Beautiful aromatic expression with crème brûlée, caramel, and nougat. A lingering finish. A superb wine that is surprisingly fresh. ” (Yves Beck 2018) - Delivery in a wooden case available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and selected shipping method) - An exceptional vintage that is a favorite among our customers!

Wine rated 18/20 (Top-rated wine)
Rated estate (2022 guide): 4 stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)
About the wine:
An intense, elegant, and very pure bouquet. A full-bodied wine with good acidity. Excellent length, a warm finish, and a hint of mint. Still developing.
About the estate:
Silvio Denz has enabled the estate to further refine the quality of its wine and to fulfill its role as an ambassador for the great Sauternes wines with distinction, in a style that, thanks to its terroir, bears a close resemblance to Yquem, combining sumptuous texture with aromatic refinement in its fruitiness. But he has also extended his efforts to benefit the entire appellation by opening a luxury hotel and a top-tier gourmet restaurant dedicated to the glory of Sauternes, generously including all neighboring estates in its promotion.
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Wine rated (2019 guide) 94/100 (Outstanding wine)
About the wine:
The 2009 Lafaurie-Peyraguey, pale to medium gold in color, offers notes of candied citrus and dried tropical fruits, along with hints of crème brûlée and chamomile and a touch of honey. On the palate, it is fresh, youthful, and lively, finishing with rich tropical layers. 2019–2035
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (2014 guide) 96/100
Rated estate (2022 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)
About the wine:
This wine offers a well-balanced, easy-drinking profile with 138 grams of residual sugar. Éric Larramona, the winemaker, blended in Sauvignon Blanc grapes harvested early in the harvest to bring freshness to the blend without sacrificing the intensity of the vintage. A winning choice!
About the estate:
Swiss businessman Silvio Denz (Château Faugères in Saint-Émilion) acquired this venerable estate, which was popularized for many years by its former owner, the Cordier family. This splendid estate produces great classic Sauternes wines from exceptionally rich harvests, now selecting its first wine with greater rigor. It is at this cost that the estate achieves consistent quality, which perpetuates its reputation. The grapes are, of course, harvested in successive passes; pressing is carried out on old vertical presses, and the wine is aged for thirty months in barrels (by lot corresponding to harvest dates), one-third of which are new oak. Lafaurie-Peyraguey stands out for its great richness, a result of its terroir, in contrast to the finesse of its closest neighbor, Sigalas-Rabaud.

Vert de Vin
Wine rated (2019 guide) 94-95/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About the wine:
The nose is aromatic and spicy, offering power and richness while remaining refined. It reveals notes of candied Williams pear and candied lemon, with a hint of kumquat, combined with hints of spices, Timut pepper, white tea, and lychee, as well as very subtle hints of candied ginger and nutmeg. The palate is fruity, balanced, and precise, offering a juicy, tangy structure, freshness, a refined minerality, elegance, sweetness, and depth. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of candied apple, candied Williams pear, and, more subtly, kumquat, combined with delicate hints of candied lemon, candied green apple, lychee, candied ginger, as well as hints of spice, nutmeg, and a subtle note of fresh hazelnut. Good length and persistence. A subtle hint of chocolate on the finish.

Excellent, despite two corks that didn't hold up and should have been replaced, which forced me to filter the wine

Pros: A classic, quintessential Sauternes. All the expected characteristics are present in a relatively well-balanced wine. Cons: The sweetness is a bit too pronounced and isn’t sufficiently balanced by the well-integrated bitter notes. It lacks liveliness and even more aromatic complexity to earn a fifth star.

A nectar from a sunny vintage. The clean, already elegant attack gives way to a full-bodied, rich, and opulent palate, featuring melt-in-the-mouth flavors of exotic fruits, quince, and orange zest. Sophisticated, extended aging yields subtle tannins that are nonetheless very refined and velvety. The finish, while powerful, remains perfectly balanced and refreshing, with notes of honey, beeswax, and Madagascar vanilla. For Christmas Eve, this delicious and refined 1er cru will live up to its reputation and, served at 10°C, will perfectly complement a whole semi-cooked duck foie gras from the Landes region, with Sarlat truffles. Rating = 4.7.
