Pinot Noir

roast beef with porcini mushrooms

This 5.24-hectare vineyard, neighboring the Epenotes and Boucherottes premier crus on the Pommard side, takes its name from the beech trees that once grew there. Rodolphe Demougeot cultivates half a hectare planted 55 years ago. He produces a stunning Beaune village wine, with an attractive garnet color and a cherry nose, slightly vanilla-flavored from 12 months in barrel. The palate is full-bodied and deep, with firm but fine tannins, refreshed by a touch of acidity, before stretching out into a long, licorice-flavored finish. Characterful and with solid potential." Rated estate (2022 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

Although he has been based in the commune of Meursault since 1998, Rodolphe Demougeot has been developing an estate since 1992, the core of which covers 7.8 hectares and consists mainly of a fine selection of Pommard and Savigny-lès-Beaune crus. The red wines, made from carefully selected grapes, destemmed or not, vinified in concrete vats, have an energy that ensures they are drinkable from a young age in a delicious style, very suitable for restaurants and those who like to drink their wines young. The whites, on the other hand, offer integrity and verticality.

Wine rated (2022 guide) 15/20 (Good wine)

Rated estate (2022 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)

About wine:

It has the same woody signature as the other wines, with its powdery, smoky character. The fruit on the palate is supported by its substance and straightforwardness.

About the estate:

Rodolphe Demougeot established his estate in 1992. He mainly produces energetic, dense red wines that age very well. Today, they are harmonious, free from the harsh finishes that characterized past vintages.
