Open, balanced, and rich, the white version of Le Renard expresses itself on the nose with aromas of fresh herbs, white fruits, and ivy leaves. Very fresh on the palate, with good persistence on the finish, where salty, iodine-like nuances come through. A pure expression of the grape variety, an easy-to-drink wine!

Rated estate (2025 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

The Devillard family has expanded beyond the borders of Burgundy by purchasing the Rolet estate in the Jura region. In Mercurey, the Château de Chamirey remains their largest Burgundy property, with 37 hectares, including 15 hectares of premier cru vineyards. The estate also offers a unique table d'hôte dining experience in the heart of the hamlet. A skilled technical team, led by the dynamic duo of Robert Vernizeau and Enrico Peyrone, is constantly striving to improve the work in the vineyards, vinification, and aging, always in pursuit of excellence. The 2017 vintage is particularly successful and scored highly in our blind tastings, both for whites and reds. It could move up our rankings very soon.

About the estate:

Based in Mercurey, Amaury Devillard and his sister Aurore took a gamble in 2005 by taking over the entire distribution of the family's various estates: Ch. de Chamirey and Dom. de la Ferté (Côte Chalonnaise), Dom. des Perdrix (Côte de Nuits) and Dom. de la Garenne (Mâconnais).
