“The authenticity of Burgundy Pinot: elegant fruit, a creamy texture, and spicy complexity—what harmony!”

“Its pronounced peppery and floral aromas come mainly from the dark fruits. The rich and exceptionally generous flavors offer excellent body, fine power, and superb length, leading to a firm and slightly rustic finish. This wine is also very good and deserves your attention, provided you give it at least a little time in the cellar. 2032+” (Burghound 2026)

About the estate:

An historic estate, first mentioned in the 18th century, now covering 24 hectares. At the helm are Roger Belland, who took over in 1981; his daughter Julie, who joined in 2003 and oversees winemaking; and their new partner, Martin Boyer. No certified organic production here, but sustainable and carefully managed viticulture (full vineyard cover cropping, no herbicides), and wines of great consistency.

About the wine:

A 3-hectare monopole on the estate, planted 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay. The Pinot Noir vines are over 60 years old. The pronounced peppery and floral aromas come mainly from the black fruit. The rich and exceptionally generous flavors offer excellent volume, beautiful power, and excellent length, leading to a firm and slightly rustic finish. This wine is also very good and deserves your attention, provided you give it at least a little time in the cellar. 2032+

Wine rated (2025 guide) 91/100

About the wine:

This Monopole vineyard is now planted with equal parts Pinot and Chardonnay. 50% of the red wine is made from whole clusters. It boasts one of the deepest purple hues, yet the Pinot is lively on the nose. Dominant aromas of raspberry, softer on the palate, though there is a lovely energy on the palate, with some nuances, as well as a beautiful density of deep red fruit. The tannins are more refined than those of a classic Morgeot, as we are dealing here with a limestone terroir rather than a deeper clay soil. Best enjoyed between 2029 and 2034.
