Roger Belland - Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot Clos Pitois Monopole blanc 2024
91/100
Inside Burgundy - Jasper Morris
"A well-kept treasure in which the flavors of brioche, lemon zest, and freesia blossoms intertwine—absolutely sublime!"
“A blend of vines ranging from 25 to 50 years old, with a new planting currently underway. Light, pale color. Beautiful mineral tension. Clos Pitois initially reveals a lovely, classic mineral structure, followed by a slightly more pronounced oaky influence, which it handles well. The grapes are riper but retain their cohesion well. Best enjoyed between 2027 and 2030.” (Inside Burgundy – Jasper Morris 2025)

About the estate:
A historic estate, first mentioned in the 18th century, that today covers 24 hectares. At the helm are Roger Belland, who took over in 1981; his daughter Julie, who joined in 2003 and is in charge of winemaking; and their new colleague, Martin Boyer. While not certified organic, the estate practices sustainable and carefully managed viticulture (full grass cover in the vineyard, no herbicides) and produces wines of great consistency.
