2*Coup de Coeur

Hachette

"A regular favorite in the Guide, Domaine Fichet does it again with this cuvée, which dances joyfully in a lovely pale hue. The complex nose evokes, in turn, pineapple, lychee, lemon, and white flowers. Flattering, it develops an equally exotic charm on the palate, which is full-bodied, rich, and very harmonious, underscored by perfectly balanced freshness.” (La Guide Hachette des Vins 2017)

About the wine:

A regular favorite in the Guide—the Fichet-Igé La Cra Cuvée Prestige 2013, to name just the most recent example—the estate strikes again with this cuvée, which dances joyfully in a lovely pale hue. The complex nose evokes, in turn, pineapple, lychee, lemon, and white flowers. Flattering, it develops an equally exotic charm on the palate—full-bodied, rich, and very harmonious—highlighted by perfectly balanced freshness.

About the estate:

The estate was established by Francis Fichet in 1976, breaking away from the Igé cooperative winery. His sons, Pierre-Yves and Olivier, who have been at the helm since 1999, now cultivate 35 hectares of vineyards, from which they produce some fifteen different wines made from the four Burgundy grape varieties. A reliable choice in the Mâconnais region, complemented in 2006 by a small wine merchant operation.
