Mâcon
The Mâcon appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) is one of the jewels of southern Burgundy, located in the heart of the Mâconnais vineyards in the Saône-et-Loire department. This appellation, which is distinct from Mâcon, produces wines across 26 communes, covering an area of approximately 3,000 hectares. The communes of Azé, Bray, Burgy, Bussières, Chaintré, Chardonnay, Charnay-lès-Mâcon, Cruzille, Davayé, Fuissé, Igé, Loché, Lugny, Mancey, Milly Lamartine, Montbellet, Péronne, Pierreclos, Prissé, La Roche-Vineuse, Saint-Gengoux-le-National, Solutré-Pouilly, Uchizy, Vergisson, Verzé, and Vinzelles.

The Mâconnais hills shape the terroir, which is dominated by siliceous, clayey, and sandy soils that are particularly favorable to the development of the region's grape variety: Chardonnay.

Mâcon wines are exclusively white wines renowned for their rich aromatic palette, inherited from the magnificent expression of Chardonnay. Mâcon wines are very easy to drink and can be enjoyed in all circumstances. They are nonetheless quality products that hold their own among the wines offered by houses such as Maison Verget, Domaine Louis Jadot, and Domaine La Soufrandière-Bret Brothers.
