Barolet Pernot - Saint-Romain blanc 2019
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
"Starred last year, this cuvée, made from a blend of plots representing 3.50 ha, does even better in its 2019 version, earning a Favorite. The elegant nose balances the woodiness of the aging process (40% new barrels) with citrus scents. The palate is full, rich and generous, with a long, acidic finish that brings a healthy freshness. A remarkable harmony ". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2022)

Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the domain :
One of our current discoveries for a domain that dates back to the end of the .... 16th century! But a brand-new generation has decided to bring out the best in a lovely heritage of vines and, from its first two vintages (2014 and 2015), the difference can be seen with more precise wines, with woodiness that may be perfectible but is better integrated. To be followed and encouraged, with a soft spot for the old vines of Saint-Romain, whose value for money is hard to match. Reds vinified healthily from whole grapes still have room for improvement in fruit quality, especially the ideally situated Beaune-Teurons.

About the domain :
André Barolet settled on the estate in 1947 and married Huguette Pernot 10 years later. In 1985, Didier joined the business, and together they developed bottle sales to private customers, as well as creating a tasting cellar. In 2015, Didier's son Romain joined them on an estate that now boasts 14 ha spread over six appellations.
