Roger Belland - Volnay-Santenots Premier Cru 2009

Roger Belland - Volnay-Santenots 1er Cru 2009

Notes: Gault Millau 16/20
"A powerful Volnay. Cherry, raspberry, and potpourri make up a rich nose. The palate is full-bodied and very juicy. The tannins are integrated and round." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2012 - Gault Millau). A beautiful expression of Pinot Noir!

About the estate:

An old estate, with records dating back to the 18th century, now covering 24 hectares. At its helm are Roger Belland, who took over in 1981, his daughter Julie, who joined in 2003 and is in charge of winemaking, and their new colleague Martin Boyer. No certified organic status here, but sustainable and controlled viticulture (total grass cover in the vineyard, no weedkillers), and wines of great consistency.
