Roger Belland - Volnay-Santenots 1er Cru 2009
Notes: Gault Millau 16/20
“A powerful Volnay. Cherry, raspberry, and potpourri make up a rich nose. The palate is full-bodied and very juicy. The tannins are well-integrated and round.” (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2012 - Gault Millau). A truly beautiful expression of Pinot Noir!

About the estate:
A historic estate, first documented in the 18th century, that today spans 24 hectares. At the helm are Roger Belland, who took over in 1981; his daughter Julie, who joined in 2003 and oversees winemaking; and their new colleague, Martin Boyer. While not certified organic, the estate practices sustainable and carefully managed viticulture (full grass cover in the vineyard, no herbicides) and produces wines of great consistency.
