Volnay

The Volnay and Volnay Premier Cru vineyards, situated between Pommard to the north and Meursault to the south along an east-south orientation, are planted at an altitude ranging from 230 to 280 meters. They lie at the foot of the small Chaignot hill. The vines grow on white Argovian limestone soils in the upper part of the hillside, which become enriched with reddish iron-rich components and schist layers as one descends. 

The wines from Volnay and Volnay Premier Cru are exclusively red wines made from Pinot Noir, the flagship grape variety of Burgundy. They are distinguished by their finesse and their lively, velvety character, which gives them a very feminine quality.
