“The Grenache vines in this vineyard date back to 1910—taste a piece of the variety’s history!”
“It’s always exciting to taste wines from a vineyard whose origins date back to 1910. This bottling offers aromas of sandalwood, cigar box, black plum, and wild cherry on the nose. The palate is even more full-bodied, opening with flavors of chai-spiced pudding, supported by just the right amount of structure. ” (Wine Enthusiast 2025)

About the wine:
The 2023 Besson Vineyard Old Vines Grenache, which bears the Central Coast appellation, comes from a corner of the Santa Clara Valley, not far from Santa Cruz. Highly influenced by the cool climate, it offers layers of wild strawberries, crushed white pepper, and chalky tannins, with a texture that reflects its youth. It may need more time in the bottle (and in the glass) to fully unfold its power; best enjoyed between 2025 and 2030.
