"This vintage reflects Dom Pérignon's perfect balance, its finest promise between elegance and delicacy."

Its precise and elegant bouquet unfolds an aromatic, delicate flavor with three distinct nuances: citrus, a more vegetal facet, and finally spices. This precision reveals an elegance where the wine, after an airy attack, amplifies.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 98/100

Rated estate (2026 guide) 5 stars (Exceptional producers, representing the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and worldwide)

About the estate:

Dom Pérignon is the most widely distributed and therefore best-known prestige Champagne in the world. The emotions it evokes stem primarily from the extraordinary quality of the hundreds of hectares of Grand Cru vineyards that form the inimitable core of its blends. The surgical expertise of the house and its cellar master Vincent Chaperon achieves an ideal balance between Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Both the white and rosé undergo a unique aging process, with different phases (called "plénitudes") offering flavors that are as brilliant as they are diverse. Work is underway in Hautvilliers, the birthplace of the cuvée, to rebuild the historic cellar of Dom Pérignon, who would certainly be proud of today's wines.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 96/100

About wine:

Silky, tightly sculpted, and serene, the 2013 Dom Pérignon is less hedonistic than the 2012 (and less intensely energetic than the 2008), but it already shows a beautiful balance between tension and expressiveness. Orange fruits—apricots, mangoes, and oranges—rub shoulders with bright lemon syrup and delicate red fruits. The palate is very detailed and long, with Dom Pérignon's characteristic smokiness. The pleasure is immediate, but cellaring will allow the internal complexity to blossom, revealing that this wine is one of the best Dom Pérignons of recent years.

Rated estate (2026 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly awarded by the guide)

About the estate:

The ultimate prestige champagne, named in honor of the "father of champagne." Responsible for the vineyard and cellar of Hautvillers Abbey, Dom Pérignon, traditionally credited with inventing the champagne method, demonstrated his mastery of the art of blending that makes great vintages. After 28 years with the house and fifteen vintages, his distant successor, Richard Geoffroy from Vertus, handed over the reins in 2019 to Vincent Chaperon, who had been working alongside him for thirteen years. Dom Pérignon is always vintage. Its composition remains a secret and each vintage is a creation. All we know is that it uses Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the grands crus of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, as well as Hautvillers (1er cru), in memory of Dom Pérignon.

Rated Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)

About wine:

Disgorged in October 2022, Dom Pérignon 2013 is a charming and elegant vintage for this cuvée. It reveals complex aromas of buttered pastry, spices, citrus oil, almonds, honey and, when aerated, a touch of smoke. The palate is medium-bodied to full-bodied, perfectly balanced, with a chiseled and tight profile. The long, cool growing season brought freshness and a delicate earthy note on the finish.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 95/100

Rated estate (2026 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About wine:

A vintage that is legible from the very first expressions without being locked up, it fits into this fresh profile, with orchard fruit, flint, and toasted reduction. A fresh style that has evolved slowly. The juice on the palate is slender with a contained mid-palate thickness but without austerity. The wine will evolve slowly on this balance, with beautiful acidity and minerality giving it a lovely length.

About the estate:

Several years ago, Richard Geoffroy handed over the reins of the company to Vincent Chaperon, who is now responsible for continuing the legend. With its unique style, impressive consistency, and volumes that allow for widespread global distribution, Dom Pé is more than just a champagne brand: it is an emblem of French luxury and a formidable driving force for the entire region. Whether or not you are a fan of its instantly recognizable taste, with its delicate buttery and toasty notes, Dom Pérignon remains an essential reference.

About wine:

The 2013 Dom Pérignon is quite delicate and discreet. It reminds me of the 2004, but with a little more richness on the mid-palate and a little less energy. Apricot, mandarin peel, white flowers, jasmine, mint, and light honey notes intermingle. The intensity and openness of the 2013 make it a delicious wine to enjoy today.
