Wine rated (2026 guide) 99/100
Rated estate (2026 guide) 5 stars (Exceptional producers, representing the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and worldwide)
About the estate:
Dom Pérignon is the most widely distributed and therefore best-known prestige Champagne in the world. The emotions it evokes stem primarily from the extraordinary quality of the hundreds of hectares of Grand Cru vineyards that form the inimitable core of its blends. The surgical expertise of the house and its cellar master Vincent Chaperon achieves an ideal balance between Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Both the white and rosé undergo a unique aging process, with different phases (called "plénitudes") offering flavors that are as brilliant as they are diverse. Work is underway in Hautvilliers, the birthplace of the cuvée, to rebuild the historic cellar of Dom Pérignon, who would certainly be proud of today's wines.

Rated estate (2026 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly awarded by the guide)
About wine:
2015, a hot and dry year, produced a full-bodied and complex champagne, which opens with surprisingly fresh notes of oyster shells, followed by more generous aromas of baked brioche and cocoa, before flowers (lime blossom, honeysuckle) make their delicate appearance, mixed with hints of citrus. The palate is generous, rich, broad and yet very refined and fresh, with notes of citron, bitter orange and salinity. The finish is superbly balanced.
About the estate:
The ultimate prestige champagne, named in honor of the "father of champagne." Responsible for the vineyard and cellar of Hautvillers Abbey, Dom Pérignon, traditionally credited with inventing the champagne method, demonstrated his mastery of the art of blending that makes great vintages. After 28 years with the house and fifteen vintages, his distant successor, Richard Geoffroy from Vertus, handed over the reins in 2019 to Vincent Chaperon, who had been working alongside him for thirteen years. Dom Pérignon is always vintage. Its composition remains a secret and each vintage is a creation. All we know is that it uses Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the grands crus of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, as well as Hautvillers (1er cru), in memory of Dom Pérignon.

About wine:
Disgorged in January 2023, Dom Pérignon 2015 has a unique and ethereal profile with aromas of white pepper, iodine, ripe orchard fruits, toasted bread, smoke, herbs, and spices. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, layered and structured, it is enveloping and round, with a delicately phenolic mid-palate that highlights dry, chalky extracts, ending with a sapid and penetrating finish with gastronomic bitterness. This version of Dom Pérignon, while possessing the usual charm and winemaking generosity that characterize the label, is distinguished by a delicate structural austerity and a particularly phenolic profile, resulting in a remarkably linear and well-defined style that diverges sharply from the more familiar expressions of Dom Pérignon.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 95/100
Rated estate (2026 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About wine:
The 2015 vintage reveals toasted notes, followed by the characteristics specific to this vintage: root and vegetal nuances emerge on the nose.
About the estate:
Several years ago, Richard Geoffroy handed over the reins of the company to Vincent Chaperon, who is now responsible for continuing the legend. With its unique style, impressive consistency, and volumes that allow for widespread global distribution, Dom Pé is more than just a champagne brand: it is an emblem of French luxury and a formidable driving force for the entire region. Whether or not you are a fan of its instantly recognizable taste, with its delicate buttery and toasty notes, Dom Pérignon remains an essential reference.

About wine:
Pale honey color with hints of green leaves. Still very tight and tense, as if it still needs to relax and breathe. Notes of orange peel, but less of the rich citrus cream that so often characterizes Dom Pérignon than usual.

About wine:
The Dom Pérignon 2015 is outstanding. Brilliant and balanced, the 2015 displays tremendous energy. Notes of citrus peel, white flowers, mint, white pepper, and slate follow one another on the palate. The tension and backbone are magnificent, with bright saline notes that linger on the mid-palate and finish. This is a fine performance in what proved to be a delicate vintage. I am curious to see how the 2015 will evolve in the years to come.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 97/100
About wine:
A super-complex champagne with a mellow tension. Aromas of coffee beans, lemon peel, burnt sugar, chalky minerality, barley candy, and tarte tatin. Fine, prickly bubbles with flavors of lemon leaves, aspirin, and mirabelle plum, as well as a touch of grapefruit bitterness that maintains the tension. Pungent but integrated acidity, medium body, and a toasty finish. Drink immediately.

About wine:
Dom Pérignon 2015 has a bright straw yellow color. The nose is expressive and layered, with a tropical profile in its notes of cantaloupe, peach, fresh pastry, smoky wet stones, and orange blossom. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, it offers a round and ripe but very well-defined sensation, with a soft, chalky texture. This vintage has been very successful for Dom Pérignon, producing wines that retain a great deal of clarity and detail in this hot vintage. Drink within the next 20 years.
