Guy Charbaut Champagne
Champagne Charbaut is a house founded in 1936 by the family’s grandfather, André, who cultivated his first vineyards in the village of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, near Épernay. One of André’s two sons, Guy, decided to establish his own business following the death of his father, who had passed on all his expertise and the reins of the house to him; this marked the beginning of Champagne Guy Charbaut. Since 2010, Guy’s son, Xavier, has been at the helm of the house, alongside his wife Nathalie and their daughter Hélène.

Spanning 20 hectares, the Champagne Guy Charbaut vineyard—managed using sustainable viticulture practices (HVE-certified)—is ideally situated on hillsides classified as 90 to 100 percent on the Crus scale, enabling the Charbaut family to consistently produce champagnes of exceptional quality. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier are among the grape varieties used in Guy Charbaut’s champagnes, of which there are eight, including six Premier Cru champagnes.

Eager to satisfy their guests and expand their wine tourism business, Xavier and Nathalie Charbaut decided to embark on the bed-and-breakfast adventure in 1999, welcoming an international clientele for tours of their cellars, tastings, and even a champagne dinner, during which they introduce guests to their cuvées—which are designed to be complex and refined, reflecting their passion.
