" This dry Champagne is beautifully textured, with great minerality and no sign of aging despite seven years in the bottle. Its taut, tight character will refine over the next year." (Wine Enthusiast) A cuvée combining the delicacy and minerality of the Côte des Blancs with the richness and generosity of the Montagne de Reims.

Wine rated 17.5/20 (Reference wine)

Rated estate (2022 guide) 4 stars (Producers of very high quality, the pride of French vineyards)

About the estate:

Founded in 1760 and located in the heart of Reims with its own garden, Clos Lanson, this historic House celebrated its 260th anniversary this year with one major goal: to regain its former glory. With 550 hectares of its own land and 16 hectares of organic and biodynamic viticulture, it has access to a total of more than 100 different crus, 50% of which are grands crus and premiers crus. Over the past several years, significant investments have been made to optimize the production process, including a parcel-by-parcel fermentation room, a cellar dedicated to reserve wines, and a new pressing center. The cuvées reflect the investment in reserve wine storage methods and their extended depth, as well as the decision to no longer systematically practice malolactic fermentation. Aging times have been extended, dosages are meticulously calculated, and the packaging has been superbly redesigned, right down to a back label that provides highly detailed technical information that is very useful to consumers today. The wines now possess an extra soul that connects consumers to the maturity of the style and the splendid mosaics.

About wine:

Blanc de Blancs offers appealing aromas of citrus oil, flowers, white peach, and brioche. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, mellow and fleshy, with racy acidity and precise mousse, it ends with an enticing, delicately chalky finish.

Rated estate (2022 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)

About the estate:

Founded in 1760, the brand has been the flagship of the publicly traded Lanson-BCC group since its acquisition in 2006. Since 2018, the house, which exports more than 80% of its production, has been chaired by François Van Aal. Cellar master Hervé Dantan continues the Lanson style with predominantly Pinot champagnes, which no longer undergo systematic malolactic fermentation, characterized by a taut freshness and built for aging.

About wine:

A creamy champagne with lovely fruitiness, featuring notes of sliced apple, pineapple, and praline. It is full-bodied and round with fine bubbles. Very creamy.
