The history of the Oudart family dates back to the early 19th century, when Jacques Oudart’s grandparents settled in Brugny. His parents, Etienne and Juliana, gradually transformed the property into a 9-hectare vineyard. Passionate and deeply committed to their craft, they quickly established the “Champagne Etienne OUDART ” brand, which stands out for the quality of its wines. Jacques took over the estate at age 40. A winemaker at heart, he is meticulous in his vineyard work: every action in the vineyard is carefully considered and promotes natural balance. Together with his wife Karinne, they introduce subtle and elegant wines to enthusiasts seeking new and unique experiences.

Champagne Etienne Oudart benefits from a high-end platform for marketing its wines: the Vinay Cooperative, of which Jacques Oudart is President, following in his father’s footsteps. This provides access to a variety of high-quality blends—which he closely oversees—sourced from the rich terroirs spread across 120 hectares. He is deeply involved with the cooperative and its members, setting an example in Champagne.

The wines of Champagne Etienne Oudart are divided into five “Instant” ranges made from the three grape varieties, representative of the aromatic palette of the entire vineyard. The taste remains consistent over the years, and the house’s spirit is preserved year after year, as Jacques Oudart personalizes his wines with his own dosage. This lends them elegance and freshness.

The Etienne Oudart Champagne vineyard consists solely of old vines planted between 1958 and 1973, maintained through permanent interplanting, which adds depth to the wines. In addition to the certification process currently underway, the estate practices Sustainable Viticulture, promoting natural balance through the use of natural organic amendments and implementing soil management through plowing combined with controlled grass cover in every other row.
