“Discover this delicious wine from Ponce, with its irresistible freshness and complexity!”

“La Casilla 2024 [...] displays great finesse and freshness, restrained maturity, and an alcohol content of 12.5%, [...]. This wine is truly elegant and balanced, with the more serious profile typical of the vintage’s reds, all of which offer excellent value for money. It is subtle and nuanced, floral and fragrant, yet more understated than flamboyant, with notes of red cherries, excellent freshness, and refined tannins, which give it a lovely finesse. Wine rated (2026 guide) 94/100 (Outstanding wine)

About the wine:

La Casilla 2024 benefited from precise harvest timing due to low yields, allowing the grapes to be picked at optimal ripeness. It exhibits great finesse and freshness, restrained ripeness, and an alcohol content of 12.5%, with a pH of 3.58 and an acidity of 5.8 grams. The grapes, sourced from 60% limestone soils, 20% clay-limestone soils, and 20% stony soils, were fermented using 100% whole clusters and native yeasts in 4,500-liter oak vats, where the wine aged for nine months. This wine is truly elegant and balanced, with the more serious profile of the vintage’s reds, all of which offer excellent value for money. It is subtle and nuanced, floral and fragrant, yet more understated than flamboyant, with notes of red cherries, excellent freshness, and refined tannins, giving it a lovely finesse. 12,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2025. 2026–2031

About the wine:

Pronounced aromas of wild blackberries and red cherries, with herbaceous and floral notes, revealing hints of geranium and white pepper. Fruity but not simplistic, with robust Bobal tannins that balance the floral notes and the aromas of juicy cherries. Lively and appetizing, with a flawless finish. Made from organically grown grapes. Can be enjoyed now, but will be better in a year.

Review by Mr. GILLES D. Published on April 18, 2026

This well-crafted wine is a delight to drink; with its low 13% ABV, it’s easy to approach and flows with elegance and a certain mineral vibrancy. Its savory texture, with a velvety mouthfeel, evokes jammy red berries, carried by a lovely natural freshness and tight, perfectly integrated tannins. The long finish, with its remarkable savory depth, is the final touch that wins you over. An unbeatable value for money. A convivial red wine with a bold, youthful character, perfect for sharing with spaghetti Bolognese, sprinkled with Parmesan and topped with a few basil leaves. Rating = 4.3.
