“A triumph over the extreme conditions of the vintage, according to Robert Parker—this cuvée is one of a kind!”

“A mineral-driven nose of cooked citrus, white sesame, and hints of nori, yellow apples, and pine nuts. Some dried Mediterranean spices and herbs as well. Quite supple yet fresh, with moderate acidity and a savory core. Medium- to full-bodied with a long finish. Quite unique and complex. Delicious now, but still has aging potential. ” (James Suckling 2025)

Wine rated (2025 guide) 96/100 (Extraordinary wine)

Estate rated "Recommended" (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)

About the wine:

All wines undergo malolactic fermentation in barrels, including the 2022 Nelin white, a blend that has evolved over time. In 2022, it was produced exclusively from local grape varieties: Garnacha Blanca, Macabeu, Xarel·lo, Cariñena Blanca, Picapoll Blanco, Trepat Blanco, PX, and Escanyavelles, sourced from four small organic vineyards. The juice from whole-cluster pressing fermented with indigenous yeasts in 1,200-liter oak casks, undergoing a slow, extended fermentation lasting between three and nine months. It aged in casks for one year, then was transferred to stainless steel tanks for an additional six to eight months. Despite the drought and heat waves, it followed the 2021 vintage, and the vines had sufficient reserves, so the wines are fresher than expected. It is a Mediterranean blend with 14% alcohol and 5.3 grams of acidity, clean and harmonious. The north-facing plots performed very well, and the grape varieties handle these conditions without issue, so the wine does not seem affected at all. In fact, it is quite fresh, medium-bodied, and very flavorful—serious and full of character—a triumph over the year’s extreme conditions. This is a white wine with aging potential. 9,000 bottles were bottled in April 2024. 2026–2033
