The Clos Mogador estate was founded in 1979 under the expert guidance of René Barbier, a member of a French family of winemakers eager to put his own expertise to work. Having fallen in love with the lands of Catalonia, he settled in Gratallops, and very quickly, his talent established Clos Mogador as a true benchmark for the Montsant and Priorat appellations.
Today, Clos Mogador is known worldwide as the greatest wine of Priorat. Each year, it produces precise vintages of extraordinary quality and elegance that highlight the terroir, lending an impressive freshness and minerality to its wines. This is the result of the tireless work of René Barbier’s sons, Christian and René, who carry on their father’s passion for this wine region with its strong identity.
