The Clos Mogador estate was founded in 1979 under the masterful guidance of René Barbier, a member of a French family of winemakers eager to put his own expertise to work. Having fallen in love with the lands of Catalonia, he settled in Gratallops, and very quickly, his talent made Clos Mogador a true benchmark for the Montsant and Priorat appellations.
Today, Clos Mogador is known worldwide as Priorat’s greatest wine. Each year, it produces distinctive vintages of extraordinary quality and elegance that highlight the terroir, lending the wines an impressive freshness and minerality.
