Bogeda Mas Doix

Bodega Mas Doix belongs to Ramón Llagostera and Josep Doix, who in 1998 took over their family estate, Mas Doix, and with it the work of five generations of passionate winemakers dating back to 1850 and the pre-phylloxera era. Their philosophy and core value is to convey the intrinsic properties of the Priorat terroir. Oscar Llombart, oenologist, supports Ramon in his daily work. In fact, the wine from Bodega Mas Doix is truly the result of an environment, a soil, a slope, an orientation, a microclimate, and the native grape varieties specific to the region and their expertise.

The geographical location of Bodega Mas Doix, in the northeast of Priorat, protects the vineyard thanks to two natural barriers: Montsant (facing northwest) and Serra del Mollo (facing southeast). Being close to these two barriers, Poboleda benefits from the cool breezes that circulate in the valley. This lower-than-normal temperature for the region allows for a later harvest and better ripening of the grapes. The soils are mainly "licorelle" slate. All of the Bogeda Mas Doix plots are located at an altitude of 350 to 400 meters above sea level.

At Bogeda Mas Doix, the wines of Ramón Llagostera and Oscar Llombart are great wines made for aging, with strong personalities and limited production. Robert Parker said of the 2006 Doix vintage: "Complex and elegant in the style of La Tâche"!
