"The Viña Bosconia Gran Reserva 2001 fits the profile of the wine, a little more mature (is it the Grenache?) with heady aromas and a rustic touch. [...] As the wine remained in the glass (even overnight), it became finer and more subtle." (Wine Advocate 2020 - Luis Gutiérrez)

About wine:

The Viña Bosconia Gran Reserva 2001 fits the profile of the wine, a little more mature (is it the Grenache?) with heady aromas and a rustic touch. 2001 saw good yields of very healthy grapes. They began harvesting the reds on October 15, and the last grapes were picked on October 29 in good weather. The grapes ripened well, and the wine has great balance for long bottle aging. It is 80% Tempranillo, 15% Garnacho, and the rest Graciano and Mazuelo, which fermented in 153-year-old oak casks with indigenous yeasts and aged in used barrels for 10 years. It has an alcohol content of 13%, a pH of 3.4, and 6.5 grams of acidity (tartaric). As the wine remained in the glass (even overnight), it became finer and more subtle. 5,000 bottles were produced. It was bottled in July 2012.

About wine:

Magnificent aromas and flavors of dried blackberries, raisins, tobacco, cigar, and Spanish cedar. Full-bodied, dense, and layered with wonderful fruit and complexity for such an old wine. Drink now or hold.
