"An exceptional and extremely rare vintage—one of the most powerful vintages, according to *Wine Advocate*!"

“The 2005 Gran Reserva Blanco Viña Tondonia spent ten years in American oak barrels, which gives it remarkable depth. [...] On the nose, it offers layered aromas of acacia, dried flowers, lime zest, and herbs, accompanied by notes of caramel, pastry, and a hint of toast. On the palate, it is dry and enveloping, with a lively, well-integrated freshness and a savory nuance reminiscent of wafer. With exceptional length and refinement, the 2005 vintage stands out here as a great vintage. 2026–2040” (Vinous 2026)

About the wine:

The Viña Tondonia Blanco Gran Reserva 2005, a white wine, comes from a more powerful vintage. It has a more intense golden color and a nose that reveals greater oxidation and aging, with notes of honey, wax, and a hint of caramel. María José compared it to vintages such as 1976, 1981, and 1957, which had shown earlier maturation. Its profile is different, with a rounder palate marked by the chalky austerity of the limestone soils, and a savory finish with salty notes. It was bottled in November 2019 after 14 years in well-seasoned American oak barrels and oak vats. It has an alcohol content of 12.5%, a pH of 3.4, and an acidity of 6.6 grams. 10,000 bottles were produced. It will be released in the spring of 2026. 2026–2036
