"A Tondonia with aromas described by *The Wine Advocate* as 'typical': a pure, briny white wine with notes of truffles, white flowers, and wax..."
“The 2018 Viña Gravonia Blanco [...] was aged for six years in well-seasoned American oak barrels and in tanks. It has a pale yellow color and a youthful nose, but with the typical ‘Tondonia’ cellar aromas: mushrooms, wax, diesel, and balm, with a core of dried flowers and pollen. About the wine:
The 2018 Viña Gravonia Blanco was harvested starting on September 24; these were the first grapes picked by the estate during this challenging year. The vines, now 93 years old, grow on gravelly, limestone-based soils. The wine aged for six years in well-seasoned American oak barrels and in tanks. It has a pale yellow color and a youthful nose, yet exhibits the typical “Tondonia” cellar aromas: mushrooms, wax, diesel, and balsam, with a core of dried flowers and pollen. On the palate, it is lively and intense, with great purity and a long, briny finish. It has an alcohol content of 12.5%, a pH of 3.0, and an acidity of 7 grams. 50,000 bottles were produced. It was bottled in September 2024. 2026–2038

About the wine:
Hailing from Haro in the Rioja Alta, the 2018 Crianza Viña Gravonia (100% Viura) exhibits a beautiful balance. Aromas of cedar and vanilla dominate, followed by notes of sweet herbs against a caramel backdrop, with hints of honey, acacia, and a touch of lemon. On the palate, it is dry and smooth, with a delicate freshness, a hint of saffron, and a subtle savory note—reminiscent of broth—on the finish. Perfectly integrated acidity highlights a briny finish with notes of grape. 2026–2040
