“A complex nose of licorice, earth, chocolate, and balsamic vinegar, behind which lies a beast packed with dry tannins that lend great power to the finish.” (James Suckling)

A wonderful blend of wood, acidity, and alcohol with no finish whatsoever—contrary to what the critics say, who must have been paid off to inflate their ratings

This Rioja was a big letdown! It lacks roundness—probably because it’s too young—and has a tart, acidic finish. The same was true from one bottle to the next. Nothing spectacular. Disappointing.
