Rating: Guia Penin 94/100, Stephen Tanzer 93/100
“Javier Zaccagnini has made a strong impression with this first Rueda white wine, made from very old Verdejo vines in the Sarabia, Carril, and Lagunilla vineyards, vinified and aged in the Burgundian style.” (La Revue du Vin de France - 2007 Vintage Special). This sublime cuvée, crafted with Burgundian oenologist Pierre Millemann, owes much to the vineyards’ organic cultivation as well as their altitude of approximately 900 meters—the highest in the entire D.O. Elegant, expressive aromas of white flowers, sweet spices, and toasty notes; a creamy, flavorful palate, all supported by beautiful acidity. This is the wine considered one of Spain’s greatest whites!
