Bodega Elias Mora

The Bodega Elias Mora in D.O. Toro is owned by Viki Benavides and produces spectacular wines. In 2000, Victoria Benavides took over the Bodega Elias Mora, having previously created the Bodega José Pariente in neighboring Rueda.

Accompanied by a young and predominantly female team, she has masterfully led the estate to the highest international level, thanks to her sensitivity and respect for the indigenous grape variety and the exceptional terroir. The wines of Bodega Elias Mora are sought after worldwide and acclaimed by the international press.

Located between the Ruero and Hornija rivers, the Bodega Elias Mora vineyard is composed of gravelly soils on brown limestone, poor in organic matter, which allows the vines to develop vigorously and forces the roots to seek water deep underground. The extremely continental climate, combined with low rainfall and the altitude of the vineyard (800 m on average), allow the Tinta de Toro grape to find the best possible balance.

Viki and Vanessa's extremely respectful work in the ungrafted vineyard allows the full potential of the Toro terroir to be expressed. The great wines of Bodega Elias Mora are elegant, opulent, powerful, and generous. According to Robert Parker, they are reminiscent of our Bordeaux Premiers Crus Classés.
