Brasserie d'Orgemont
The Brasserie d'Orgemont, founded in 2001 by Jean-Bernard Guyot, a passionate brewer, is one of the oldest craft breweries in France. Located in the Champagne-Ardenne region, about 30 kilometers from Reims, it has developed the expertise needed to craft high-quality beers with a distinct character. To satisfy every taste, the Brasserie d'Orgemontoffers a complete range of beers. Two types of beer are brewed there: Orgemont (blonde, brown, triple), Belgian-style abbey beers, and Valmy (wheat, blonde, amber, IPA), organic beers in the French tradition; complemented by two specialty beers: Rèmes (made with champagne marc) and Louve (made with raspberries).
Committed to environmental sustainability, the team at the Brasserie d'Orgemont is dedicated to a 100% local and eco-friendly production approach, with the goal of achieving a carbon-neutral footprint. In 2015, Valmy Beer was selected by the World Climate Conference Organization to be the official beer of COP21.
Orgemont beer is also conceived as a key ingredient in the creation of traditional local products that reconnect with regional traditions and expertise. Today, the Brasserie d'Orgemont produces and sells not only beer but also terrines and cheeses. In 2006, it launched a cheese—a sheep’s milk tomme aged with Orgemont brown beer.
A system of solar panels already covers the brewery; the drilling of a well allows for the use of local water; and the agricultural project enables the production of organic raw materials (barley, hops, etc.) to eventually achieve complete self-sufficiency.
