Hachette Bières

“This golden-copper-hued Triple, one of the first Triples from Champagne-Ardennes, is crowned with an impressive head of foam. The nose is very expressive, immediately revealing fruit—ripe yellow fruits followed by toasted grains. On the palate, the effervescence is lively at first, then the texture unfolds, full-bodied and warm, filling the mouth completely. The malty base is clearly present. Dominant flavors of candied and cooked fruit take center stage, followed by spices (cloves, pepper). The sweetness doesn’t overpower; the peppery finish is surprising and lingers for a long time. This Champagne-style Triple possesses rare elegance, depth, and remarkable balance. ” (Le Guide Hachette des Bières)

About the estate:

Sommepy-Tahure, in the Argonne—France’s leading region for grain and malt production—is the birthplace of Jean-Bernard Guyot. He settled into a farmhouse typical of the region, which had housed a brewery as far back as 1859. This brewer and farmer is a passionate advocate for the rural and historical heritage that surrounds him: his Valmy beers, a national symbol of the Republic. The project he has long envisioned is taking shape: building a self-sufficient brewery. Already equipped with solar panels, a biomass boiler, a wastewater treatment plant, and a well, he has established agroforestry plantings on the farm, cultivates his own yeast cultures, and has even begun making a beer-aged cheese. Year after year, he is turning his dreams into reality.
