"One of the best vintages of Aszu 5 Puttonyos from Disznoko, according to Vinous: an 11-year-old Tokaji!"

“Attractive aromas of dried apricots and dried mangoes with notes of caramel, fresh honey, exotic spices, and dried orange. It is dense and creamy with lively acidity. Rich but not overly sweet, with notes of oolong tea and orange blossom on the finish. Delicious. Drink now or celller." (James Suckling 2023)

Wine rated (2021 guide) 94/100

About the wine:

Golden in color, with pronounced aromas of tropical fruits, mango, pineapple, pollen, and acacia honey on the nose. Great depth and concentration on an elegant palate of apricot, marmalade, pineapple, and orange zest, accented by white pepper on the tip of the tongue. The passionate tropical flavors are supported by high acidity (8.77 g/l), with notes of dried fruit that linger indefinitely. Aged for 18 months in old oak barrels. An exceptional Aszú born in a challenging year. 2021–2044

Wine rated (2024 guide) 94/100

About the wine:

The 2014 Tokaji Aszú 5 Puttonyos undergoes 75% maceration with Aszú berries for half a day and is aged for 18 months in oak barrels. It has a very concentrated bouquet that is more complex than the 2015. It is pure and exudes greater energy. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with an engaging, sensual, and vibrant attack. It reveals aromas of orange peel, mango, and honey, and the acidity stands out effortlessly on the finish. This is one of the best vintages for the 5 Puttonyos, and it comes highly recommended. 2024–2038

A truly beautiful Furmint with that delicate balance between sweetness and acidity; those unfamiliar with it may find it not sweet enough.

It has a nice, light acidity that gives it a certain freshness and prevents us from feeling as though our stomachs are full, as they would after drinking a 15-year-old Sauternes.
