Domaine Malenchini
The magnificent Malenchini Estate is located in the Chianti hills, just a few kilometers south of Florence. The vineyards, and the splendid Villa Medicea di Lilliano that overlooks them, have belonged to the family of the current owner, Diletta Malenchini, for over two centuries. The Villa, whose history dates back to the 11th century, belonged to Grand Duke Ferdinand II de’ Medici before becoming the Royal Villa of Lapeggi.
The Malenchini family’s passion for wine dates back over 100 years. Today, at the helm of the 70-hectare estate, Diletta Malenchini carefully manages the cultivation of the 17.5 hectares planted with vines, with the utmost respect for the environment. One of the treasures of the Malenchini Estate lies in the quality of the clay-limestone soils of this vineyard. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot summers and cold winters, featuring a sharp temperature contrast at night during the summer, which allows the berries to develop remarkable acidity before harvest.
Diletta Malenchini meticulously crafts delicious, fruit-forward, rich, and fresh Chianti wines, as well as a Tuscan Vino Santo and a premium olive oil, in the purest Tuscan tradition. The total production of Domaine Malenchini, across its four wines, does not exceed 120,000 bottles. The grape varieties grown are primarily Sangiovese and Canaiolo, but also Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Pugnitello.
The wines of Domaine Malenchini are known for their rich and juicy character.
