Domaine Malenchini
The magnificent Malenchini estate is located in the Chianti hills, just a few kilometers south of Florence. The vineyards, and the splendid Villa Medicea de Lilliano overlooking them, have been in the family of the current owner, Diletta Malenchini, for over two centuries. The Villa, whose history dates back to the 11th century, belonged to Grand Duke Ferdinand II de Medici, before becoming the Villa Royale de Lapeggi.
The Malenchini family's vocation for wine goes back over 100 years. Today, at the head of the 70-hectare estate, Diletta Malenchini cultivates the 17.5 hectares of vines with great care and respect for the environment. One of the treasures of Domaine Malenchini lies in the quality of the vineyard's clay-limestone soils. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot summers and cold winters, and a strong thermal contrast at night in summer, enabling remarkable acidity to be achieved in the berries before harvest.
Diletta Malenchini meticulously crafts tasty, fruity Chianti, gourmet and fresh, as well as a Tuscan vino santo and a great olive oil, in the purest Tuscan tradition. Domaine Malenchini's total production, between the four wines, does not exceed 120,000 bottles. The grape varieties grown are mainly Sangiovese and Canaiolo, but also Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Pugnitello.
Domaine Malenchini wines are renowned for their gourmet, juicy character.
