A wine that’s easy to drink, with red fruit flavors at first. But the vanilla notes—a result of the aging process—become tiresome and detract from its character. It’s a shame, because the lasagna, with its beef and pancetta ragout, undoubtedly deserved a better pairing.

A wine that’s pleasant at first sip, with aromas of red fruits (wild strawberries, cherries), but the residual sugar quickly spoils the experience. Ultimately, it lacks balance and freshness—I don’t know what I’m going to do with the five remaining bottles...
