"100/100 James Suckling awarded this exceptional bottle, which sublimates Sangiovese, deemed perfection by the critic!"

"Perfection in Sangiovese, with aromas of cherry blossoms, chalk, seashells, fine sand, and violets on the nose and palate. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, with concentrated, balanced tannins that are wonderfully integrated and rather endless. Crisp and mellow on the finish. What presence! You'll want to spend time with this wine. A high-end selection from two vineyards, Olmo and another located in the Chianti Classico village of Lamole, aged 60 and 88 years respectively. This is a wine that is already a great pleasure, but will be even better in two or three years. (James Suckling 2024) - Delivery in wooden cases is available for orders of 3 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Wine making

After the first selection in the vineyards, a second selection takes place in the winery before destemming, followed by plot-by-plot pressing in open-top barrels, fermentation with natural indigenous yeasts for up to two weeks, six to eight daily manual punch-downs and pump-overs, maceration on the skins for an additional week, and malolactic fermentation in old barrels.

Livestock farming

For 18 months before final blending: only the best barrels are used for Colore.

About wine:

Colore is the fruit of old vines located in the hills of Chianti Classico, in Lamole and Olmo. "Colore has been my dream since I started working with old vines... The Lamole vineyard is magnificent, it is THE Chianti Classico vineyard," explains Bibi Graetz. 2022 was a hot year, so Bibi decided to use only the fruit from his north-facing vineyards. "This hot year has given me this material, even though it is at altitude and north-facing; the fruit has real punch. " Precisely sculpted and very intense, Colore 2022 is both mellow and lively. Black berries, spices, and blood orange are brought together by a lingering, tangy finish. It is more closed than the Testamatta at the moment, but should reveal more of its beauty with time. 2025-2045

About wine:

Ruby color similar to that of a gemstone, translucent, although slightly deeper than some vintages. A seductive wine, capturing all the juiciness and delicacy even in the heat of 2022. Of medium intensity, it reveals aromas of raspberry and ripe red fruits, well balanced, intense, with a touch of orange peel, rosemary, tobacco, white tea, pomegranate, cherry pit, cut herbs, undergrowth, savory but with a finish of sweet red licorice, I love it. Perfectly balanced, this wine embodies the lively Tuscan spirit of owner and winemaker Bibi Graetz.
