"Sangiovese perfection, with aromas of cherry blossom, chalk, shells, fine sand and violets on the nose and palate. Medium- to full-bodied, with concentrated, balanced tannins, wonderfully integrated and rather endless. Crisp and mellow on the finish. What a presence! You'll want to spend time with this wine. A top-of-the-range selection from two vineyards, Olmo and another in the Chianti Classico village of Lamole, aged 60 and 88 years respectively. It's a wine that already gives great pleasure, but will be even better in two or three years' time." (James Suckling 2024) - Delivery in wooden case possible for orders of 3 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

About the wine:
Colore is the fruit of old vines located in the hills of Chianti Classico, in Lamole and Olmo. "Colore has been my dream ever since I started working with old vines... The Lamole vineyard is magnificent; it's THE vineyard of Chianti Classico," explains Bibi Graetz. 2022 was a hot year, so Bibi decided to use only the fruit from his north-facing vineyards. "This warm year offers me this material, even though it's at altitude, exposed to the north; the fruit has that punch." Precisely sculpted and very intense, Colore 2022 is both mellow and lively. Dark berries, spices and blood orange are brought together by a persistent, tangy finish. It's more closed than Testamatta at the moment, but should reveal more of its beauty with time. 2025-2045

About the wine:
Jewel-like, translucent ruby color, though a little deeper than some vintages. A seductive wine, capturing all its juiciness and delicacy even in the heat of 2022. Of medium intensity, it reveals aromas of ripe raspberry and red fruit, well balanced, intense, with a touch of orange peel, rosemary, tobacco, white tea, pomegranate, cherry pit, cut herbs, undergrowth, savory but with a sweet red licorice finish, I love it. Perfect balance, and we're right in the middle of owner and winemaker Bibi Graetz's lively Tuscan pleasure.
