"Antinori's Solaia 2021 is another wine that reflects all the potential I perceived when I tasted it a few months ago. More than anything else, the 2021 is a fine example of the style favored by Antinori of late, an approach that favors finesse over opulence. Aromas of black plum, mocha, licorice, chocolate, spices, lavender and menthol develop naturally in the glass. The oak and tannins are perfectly balanced. About the wine:
Antinori's Solaia 2021 is another wine that reflects all the potential I perceived when I tasted it a few months ago. The 2021 spent 18 months in barrel, three months in barrels used once during malolactic fermentation, then 15 months in 100% new barrels for the remainder of its aging. 2027-2051

About the wine:
Sophisticated and full of finesse. Medium- to full-bodied, with racy, very silky tannins that linger for several minutes. Blackberry and cassis with notes of graphite and pencil. Such beautiful tannins. Racy and fine. Drink in five or six years.
