Bettane & Desseauve
Winery rated 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
It is one of the largest estates in the Jura, with 65 hectares of vines spread across the Arbois, Côtes du Jura, and L'Étoile appellations. The range, which includes numerous cuvées of all types of wine (ouillés, sous voile, crémants, macvin, paille and jaune), with a majority of whites, was considered comprehensive but uneven, with some fine Gems the older vintages. The wines are now regaining a certain consistency in quality.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine noted (guide 2025) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
About wine:
Cold macerated for 3 days then fermented for 17 days, this cherry-colored Trousseau was aged in old barrels for 7 months. Red fruits, particularly morello cherries, are immediately apparent on the nose. The palate is quite austere, but this is a wine with good length.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 92/100

About wine:
Of the three 2022 reds presented, our preference is clearly for the Trousseau, a clear and very expressive wine with irresistible, tangy fruit flavors ranging from raspberry to wild strawberry, with no trace of aging.
About the estate:
The Arbois appellation owes much to the Rolet estate. While it has managed to maintain its own style over the years, combining classic winemaking rooted in Jura traditions with technical expertise, the estate has not always achieved consistency across its entire range. The wines characterized by aging under a veil (particularly the yellow wines of Arbois) are the most consistently successful. In spring 2018, the estate and its vineyard were acquired by the Devillard family, well known for their Burgundy production, along with other shareholders. Under the leadership of Cédric Ducoté, the latest vintages show increased stylistic confidence and greater consistency, which we are delighted to see.
