"A great wine typical of the Jura region, an absolute treat for discerning wine lovers!"

A yellow wine with typical, intense aromas of nuts, dominated by fresh walnut. Rich and powerful on the palate, balanced and full-bodied, its lovely acidity makes it the perfect accompaniment to braised veal chop with morel mushrooms, trout in yellow wine, or—perhaps most deliciously—a nice piece of Comté cheese!

Wine rated (2026 guide) 93/100

Winery rated 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

It is one of the largest estates in the Jura, with 65 hectares of vines spread across the Arbois, Côtes du Jura, and L'Étoile appellations. The range, which includes numerous cuvées of all types of wine (ouillés, sous voile, crémants, macvin, paille and jaune), with a majority of whites, was considered comprehensive but uneven, with some fine Gems the older vintages. The wines are now regaining a certain consistency in quality.

About wine:

Powerful yet reserved, full-bodied and straightforward, the 2017 Arbois Vin Jaune deserves a little more patience...

About the estate:

The Arbois appellation owes much to the Rolet estate. While it has managed to maintain its own style over the years, combining classic winemaking rooted in Jura traditions with technical expertise, the estate has not always achieved consistency across its entire range. The wines characterized by aging under a veil (particularly the yellow wines of Arbois) are the most consistently successful. In spring 2018, the estate and its vineyard were acquired by the Devillard family, well known for their Burgundy production, along with other shareholders. Under the leadership of Cédric Ducoté, the latest vintages show increased stylistic confidence and greater consistency, which we are delighted to see.
