"A great Jura wine, an absolute delight for the discerning wine lover!

A yellow wine with typical, intense aromas of nuts, dominated by fresh walnuts. Rich and powerful on the palate, well-balanced and full-bodied, its fine acidity makes it a perfect accompaniment to braised veal chop with morel mushrooms, trout in yellow wine or, more deliciously (simplicity can be a virtue), a lovely Comté cheese!

Wine rated (2026 guide) 93/100

Domaine rated 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the domain :

This is one of the largest estates in the Jura, with 65 hectares of vines spread over the Arbois, Côtes du Jura and L'Étoile appellations. The range, which includes numerous cuvées of all types of wine (ouillés, sous voile, crémants, macvin, paille and jaune), with a majority of whites, was reputed to be complete but uneven, with some fine Gems in the older vintages. The wines are regaining a certain unity of quality.

Domaine noté (guide 2023) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).

About the wine:

Powerful but reserved, full-bodied and straightforward, the 2017 vin jaune d'Arbois deserves a little more patience...

About the domain :

The Arbois appellation owes much to Domaine Rolet. Although over the years it has managed to preserve its own style, a combination of classic Jura craftsmanship and technical mastery, the domaine has not always achieved homogeneity across its range. Wines typified by maturation under sail (in particular Arbois yellow wines) are the most consistently successful. In spring 2018, the estate and its vineyards were acquired by the Devillard family, well known for their Burgundy production, along with other shareholders. Under the aegis of Cédric Ducoté the latest vintages show increased stylistic assurance and more consistency, we are delighted.
