Fontenelles Castle
Château de Fontenelles, owned by the Tastu family for five generations, comprises 40 hectares of vineyards in the town of Douzens, in the heart of Cathar country near Carcassonne. Situated on a very distinctive terroir—the Montagne de l’Alaric— Château de Fontenelles benefits from a terroir well-suited to producing great red wines rich in regional character. The predominantly clay-limestone soils and stony terraces lend the red wines power and complexity, along with good aging potential. The grape varieties grown—Syrah, Grenache Noir, Carignan, and Mourvèdre—define the character of this vineyard, situated between two climates: Mediterranean and oceanic.

A team of passionate winemakers, led by Nelly and Thierry Tastu, is committed to sustainable and responsible viticulture, with a constant focus on quality.Château de Fontenelleswelcomes visitors to the estate for tours and tastings to share their passion and love of wine. The estate produces a range of red wines under the Corbières AOP: Notre Dame, Renaissance, and Moural de Salomon, as well as a rosé made primarily from Syrah, Tenue de Soirée. Rounding out the lineup is a red wine under the Aude Côteaux de Miramont IGP, the Poète cuvée.
