Mas Belles Eaux - Saint Helena 2007

Mas Belles Eaux - Sainte-Hélène 2007

2*Étoiles

Hachette

The estate takes its name from the numerous springs that flow across its land, at the foot of a plateau of small Villafranchian gravel. Although it dates back to the 17th century, it has a new winemaking cellar and a modern wine storehouse that allow for "tailor-made" production of different vintages. The result is admirable for this 2007, which combines power and finesse. The nose explodes with an aromatic richness of blackberry and crushed blackcurrant, rhubarb, garrigue and menthol. Vanilla completes the picture on the palate, carried by a full-bodied, long finish with silky tannins. A delicious wine for gourmets." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2015)

Guide des Vins Gault & Millau

2-star rating (Successful production)

About the estate:

Its name is linked to the numerous springs that flow around the farmhouse before emptying into the Peyne River. The vineyard covers 75 hectares of hillsides north of Pézenas. The terroir here is complex and varied, with a predominance of Villafranchian gravel on red clay and alluvial deposits. The entire Mas Belles Eaux vineyard has been reorganized around traditional Languedoc grape varieties: Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Carignan.
