Léon Barral Estate
Domaine Léon Barral is located in the hamlet of Lanthéric and is run by Didier Barral, a man of conviction who settled on the estate in the early 1990s and has never ceased to seek the most authentic expression of its terroir. His viticulture is sustainable, designed to respect the ecosystem, foster interactions between the plant and animal kingdoms, and strengthen the vines’ immunity.

The 25-hectare vineyard of Domaine Léon Barral is rooted in schist-rich hillsides and slopes sheltered by the Cévennes foothills. The vines are carefully tended, weeded, and fertilized by a herd of Jersey cows that graze there from October through mid-April. The owner is fond of saying that "the wine begins to take shape when the pruning shears are first set to the wood." The grapes are harvested by hand, and the winemaking process respects and brings out the grapes’ most authentic expression. Thanks to their quality, the wines of Domaine Léon Barral hold a prominent place on many gourmet tables.
