"Guaranteed success"

A complex and deep local wine on the nose, opening with aromas of spices and red fruits, reminiscent of redcurrants and blackcurrants. A dense, fresh, and structured red on the palate, with a long, spicy finish, full of power and character, supported by silky tannins... Perfect with regional cuisine!

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2025 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one would expect from its appellation(s))

About the estate:

Les Creisses refers to pebbles. Philippe Chesnelong took over this family estate in 1990. He is assisted by his cousin Louis Mitjaville, whose reputation extends far beyond Saint-Émilion. The Les Brunes cuvée generally plays on power, while the more immediate Les Creisses cuvée explodes with flavor. A truly excellent choice.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 08/08/2022

No fewer than six grape varieties, 20 days of maceration, and more than eleven months of aging result in an unclassifiable, full-bodied, and rich IGP wine with intense fruit flavors (blueberries, black cherries, blackcurrants) and subtle notes of oak, cocoa, caramel, roasted coffee, vanilla and sweet spices. The palate is round and deep, structured around powerful, almost creamy tannins and astonishing finesse. It lengthens towards a deep, full and very harmonious finish. It is a real feat in terms of aroma alone! It is also a fine illustration of the modernity of a wine that has its roots in the Languedoc terroir, combined with the tradition and classicism of Bordeaux. Paired with a beautiful Fleur d'Aubrac rib of beef with garrigue herbs, cooked over vine shoots. Rating: 4.4.
