“A delicious, silky, and fruity wine with aromas of sweet cherries, strawberries, and flowers. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. Refined texture, generous notes of berries and spices on the palate, and a concentrated finish. Drink now or cellar.” (Jancis Robinson 2025).

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2026 guide) 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable vintage, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
Château La Négly is one of the leading names in the Languedoc. Situated on La Clape, on clay-limestone soil, this large 50-hectare estate also produces a garage wine, Clos des Truffiers, in Saint-Pargoire. It is owned by the Paux-Rosset family. La Négly offers a wide range of wines; the cuvées share a unique minty freshness, and we recommend them without reservation. L’Ancely, dedicated to Mourvèdre, serves as the bridge between this range and the ambitious cuvées, produced in limited quantities and sought after by affluent international wine enthusiasts. The current success spans all three wine types, which is quite rare.
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated estate (2026 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the estate:
On the southern slope of the Clape massif, summer sea breezes temper the intensity of the sun and the tramontane wind. Having settled here in 1996, Jean Paux-Rosset replanted the vineyard, which now covers 100 hectares and which he runs with his sons Bastien and Mario, assisted by Claude Gros, a renowned oenologist from Narbonne.
Jancis Robinson
Wine rated (2025 guide) 17/20
About the wine:
Aroma of licorice, lavender, and olive. Plenty of blackcurrant and Chambord, yet the wine is fresh and lively rather than heavy and syrupy. Perhaps because the licorice and herbal notes linger—long, earthy, and leafy—refreshing the wine and leaving traces of menthol in their wake. The tannins are like shiny satin ribbons wrapped around the fruit.

Review by Mr. GILLES D. Published on April 13, 2026
A beautiful body, a basket of deep fruit and warm spices, a rich, almost dense texture, astonishingly refined and smooth, infused with subtle balsamic notes, and to top it all off, a marine freshness that accompanies the tasting all the way to a gentle finish. A Gem exceptional Gem money and drinking pleasure. A pure delight with every sip, paired with red wine-marinated wild boar roast, flambéed cognac sauce, and gratin dauphinois. Rating = 4.4
