"A vintage of pure pleasure. Prepare to be surprised by its richness, complexity, and price!"

Three stars, a Favorite a very good deal for this Minervois dominated by Grenache Noir. Discreet but distinctive, the nose offers warm aromas of ripe red fruits against a backdrop of garrigue, Zan, and pepper. Surprisingly fresh on the attack, resting on silky tannins, the palate delivers a round, soft flesh, without excess, which lingers very long on this sunny fruit, very Languedoc. Already fully developed, nothing stands out, except the pleasure!" (Le Guide Hachette 2025)

About wine:

Surprisingly fresh on the attack, resting on silky tannins, the palate delivers a round, soft flesh, without excess, which lingers very long on this sunny fruit, very Languedoc. About the estate:

René-Henry Guéry represents the eighth generation of a winegrowing family rooted in Azille, in the Minervois region. Together with his wife Florence, who comes from Lot, another wine-growing region, he has been running this 40-hectare estate since 1998 and equipped it with a new barrel cellar in 2022. The 15 hectares planted with white grape varieties are now organically farmed.

Beautiful deep, dark color. The nose is marked by ripe, juicy fruits. The palate offers a good, mouthwatering, full finish.

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 12/09/2024

While not exceptional, this Minervois is nonetheless remarkable in terms of quality, especially considering that at this price point, it would be difficult to find anything better! Powerful yet restrained, fresh yet reserved, this graceful, velvety wine delights the palate with its surprising fullness and smoothness, offering a wide range of beautiful ripe red fruits intertwined with spices and pepper. Perfectly aged, the mellow tannins accompany a long finish with a sexy final note. Excellent value for money. To fully appreciate this very well-structured and devilishly charming wine, there is nothing better than a Basque-style chicken or a nice piece of grilled beef served with ratatouille. Rating = 4.4.
