Sainte-Léocadie Estate
Located in Aigne, in the southeastern part of the Minervois appellation in Languedoc, Sainte-Léocadie is a 30-hectare family-owned estate. In 2002, Anne and Thierry Bonnel took over the vineyard and made several changes, notably acquiring a new winery for winemaking.
The Sainte-Léocadie estate produces only red and rosé wines from the Minervois region. The estate’s terroir consists of “mourrels”—an alternating sequence of sandstone, limestone, and marl layers. The vines must draw nutrients deep from their roots in soils that are sometimes steep and benefit from a dry, arid climate with Mediterranean influences.
