Barroubio Estate
The Barroubio estate takes its name from the Barroubio plateau on which it is located—a hillside surrounded by combes (small canyons) with a south-facing exposure at an altitude of between 200 and 300 meters. Located in the Hérault department in the town of Saint-Jean-de-Minervois, west of Saint-Chinian, the Barroubio estate produces the rarest of natural sweet wines, the Muscat de Saint-Jean-de-Minervois—an appellation covering less than 200 hectares, where only six estates and one cooperative winery share the appellation.

Since 2000, Raymond Miquel has been at the helm of the 60-hectare family estate. He cultivates 27 hectares of vineyards, 17 of which are dedicated to Muscat Petit Grain—the star of the Muscat de Saint Jean de Minervois appellation—used to produce the famous natural sweet wine and a dry white wine. He also grows Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan for rosé and red wines, which round out the AOC Minervois range.
