"A great start
This typically Languedoc blend carries us away to the fragrances of garrigue, enhanced by notes of sweet spices and generous red fruits. The wine is built around a well-balanced body, with a pleasant freshness and controlled structure. A gentle invitation to travel...

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated 92/100 (Vintage 2019)
Domaine rated 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
Château de Cazeneuve is an old building whose origins date back to the 9th century. The vines, which fell into disuse at the beginning of the 20th century, were taken over by André Leenhardt, who farms 25 hectares in the Pic Saint-Loup area. André makes lovely whites. The good news is that the petite cuvée les-calcaires 2017 heralds the estate's inflection towards dense, energetic yet fine wines. Very successful, it is a perfect expression of the minerality that this type of soil brings to the classic Languedoc grape varieties. We were delighted.

About the domain :
Château de Cazeneuve, an old building dating from the 9th century, lies at the heart of the estate bought by André Leenhardt in 1988 after his agronomy studies. Replanting, leaving the cooperative, organic conversion (certified in 2010): Today, André Leenhardt is one of the Pic Saint-Loup's most emblematic winemakers, at the head of a 35-hectare vineyard planted on clay-limestone soil.

A juicy wine with well-integrated tannins! Fruity and spicy, with some more complex animal notes.

Score: 16/20
